AR Review: - Mike add David's text for 4.2.21, 4.2.23, 4.2.25 to IQ spec - Waiting for enough changes to warrant a new release - TBD - Bob modify 5.1.1 to explain [Temperature] better - Done - We approved the text sent by Bob AR: Mike insert Bob's 5.1.1 text into IQ spec - Mike post Roy's doc in work archive - Done New items: - Roy and Michael Mirmak have been reviewing Roy's IEEE presentation about IBIS. - It will be posted to the IBIS web site. Continued review of IQ specification: 5.1.2. {LEVEL 2} [Model] Model_type - This documents a check performed by ibischk - The table is confusing - We decided to delete this check AR: Mike delete 5.1.2 from IQ spec 5.1.4. {LEVEL 2} [Model] C_comp is correct - This has already been reviewed 5.1.5. {LEVEL 3S} [Model] C_comp SPICE correlation 5.1.6. {LEVEL 3M} [Model] C_comp laboratory correlation - Our new numbering system eliminates the need for these - We decided to delete these checks 5.1.7. {LEVEL 3} [Temperature Range] is reasonable - Min/max relationship of temperature numbers is already explained in 5.1.1 - We decided that repetition is OK - Bob said that default [Temperature Range] information is from IBIS cookbook - [Temperature] is informational only, not used by simulators - IBIS spec also specifies 50, 100, 0 as default - ibischk can not check this, since keyword absence implies the default - Roy noted that the default values are for CMOS, but that is not stated - Bob said customers ask him to create models for specific temperatures - Some want extreme ranges - The IBIS spec has for the [Temperature Range] keyword: "Required: Yes, if other than the preferred 0, 50, 100 degree Celsius range" - This means ibischk can't check for absence of the keyword. - Neither can ibischeck ceck [Temperature Range] for typ/min/max order - [Temperature Range] values can be checked against the datasheet - Insure that IBIS min/max temperatures do not exceed datasheet limits - Kim pointed out that [Temperature Range] must match actual extraction temperatures - Mike asked if significantly different temperatures exist on one die - He sees buffer models on the same component with different temperatures - Sometimes IBIS files are cobbled together from different projects - Bob said that there may be reasons to model inside datasheet specs - Most equipment will not be used in Antarctica, for example - Users derate anyway, expecting a temperature range within datasheet limits - Mike summarized the points that this check might incorporate: - The keyword must give actual model extraction temps - Check min & max against datasheet, but derating is OK - Typical should be the expected operating temperature in typical equipment - Buffers on same component should have similar [Temperature Range] - We agreed that this is a level 2 check AR: Roy rewrite 5.1.7 5.1.8. {LEVEL 2} [Voltage Range] or [* Reference] is complete - ibischk requires all 4 *reference of voltage range (regardless of tech) - [Voltage Range] was the original keyword, and was required - The [* Reference] keywords were added later - Members didn't want to go through all Model_type tests to determine required keywords - Roy said that we need to explain this in our check - Mike suggested that we delete checks 5.1.9 - 5.1.12 and merge into this one - There was agreement on this - Voltages on the same power bus should be similar AR: Mike send draft 1.1u IQ spec to Roy AR: Mike rewrite 5.1.8 Next meeting: 31 Jul 2007 11-12 AM EST (8-9 AM PST) Phone: 1.877.384.0543 or 1.800.743.7560 Passcode: 90437837 Meeting ended at 12:01 PM Eastern Time.
